FIRE STATIONS

The Fort Washington Fire Company has two fire stations:

The Summit Ave. Station (88-A) is located in the Western part of the township on Summit Avenue. It is our Main Station. The Burn Brae Station (88-B) is located on the Eastern edge of the township at the intersection of Susquehanna and Twining Rds. It is our substation.

Main Station - Houses 88-6, 88-11, 88-21, 88-22, and 88-23. This station has a recreation room, a large meeting room, a fully equipped kitchen, a conference room, and offices for the chief and president.

Substation - Houses 88-24, 88-26, and 88-9 and contains a recreation room and a compressor for filling air bottles.

A memorial has been built on the Susquehanna Ave. side of our substation in memory of our volunteers that have passed on. It reads,

"THIS MONUMENT IS DEDICATED TO THE MEMORY OF THE VOLUNTEER FIRE FIGHTERS OF THE FORT WASHINGTON FIRE COMPANY NO. 1 WHO HAVE ANSWERED THEIR LAST ALARM AND WHO HAVE PASSED ON TO US A TRADITION OF HONOR: SAVING AND SUSTAINING LIVES WITH UNCOMMON VALOR AND DEVOTION TO DUTY. DEDICATED SEPTEMBER 10, 1994"
