AO ASIF Orthopaedic Trauma

Team Approach to Fracture Management

OBJECTIVES:

Objectives of the Courses are to educate and familiarize operating room personnel with instruments and implants used in the operative care of fractures, to include the following:

Basic Course:

1. Aims and Principles of AO/ASIF Techniques
2. ORIF Using Screws and Plates
3. Forearm and Ankle Fractures
4. Intertrochanteric Fractures

Advanced Course:

1. Acetabular/Pelvic Ring Distruptions
2. Distal Humeral Fractures
3. Intramedullary Nailing of Femoral Fractures
4. Distal Femoral Periarticular Fractures

These topics will be presented through a dynamic combination of lectures, hands-on practical sessions and demonstrations. Participants will take an active role in the fixation of artificial bone fractures under the direction of lab instructors.

ACCREDITATION:

AO North America Foundation is accredited as a provider of continuing education in nursing by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

This recognition does not imply that the AO North America Foundation or the ANCC Commission on Accreditation approves or endorses any product included in the activity.

This offering has been awarded 16.5 Contact Hours.

COURSE TUITION:

Tuition for this Course will be $250.00.
