OBJECTIVES

Objectives of this course are to educate and familiarize operating room personnel with the instruments and implants used in the operative management of the spinal surgery patient, to include the following:

  • Principles of AO ASIF techniques
  • Anterior/Posterior Cervical Spine
  • Anterior/Posterior Thoracolumbar Spine
  • Spinal Deformity

    These topics will be presented through a dynamic combination of lectures, hands-on practical sessions and demonstrations. Participants will take an active role in the execution of basic spinal surgery techniques, using instrumentation on artificial bones under the direction of faculty lab instructors.

    This Operating Room Personnel Course is an educational non-profit function made possible through the support of the AO ASIF.
