First Annual John Border Memorial Lectureship
in Trauma Presented in Louisville

AO North America and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association were pleased to co-sponsor the First Annual John Border Memorial Lectureship in Trauma at the 1997 OTA Annual meeting in October. Professor Harald Tscherne of Hannover, Germany was selected to be the first lecturer and presented a wonderful tribute to the life of John Border and his immense contributions to research in the management of the multiply-injured patient. Dr. Border's wife, Donna, and son John were participants in this first Lectureship, and the presentations were certainly a major highlight of the 1997 OTA meeting.
